"Let Yourself Be Advised, Drink Spaten"

Established is 1837, the Spaten – Franziskaner Brewery is located in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and has occupied the same location since 1854. In 1867 it grew to be the largest brewery in Munich and in 1922 began delivering beer to North America. The advertising slogan, “Lass Dir raten, trinke Spaten” introduced in 1924 and still used today translates to, "Let yourself be advised, drink Spaten."

Spaten means spade in German, and the symbol of the brand is a malt shovel. Fanziskaner means Franciscan, the picture on the label is of a friar.

Spaten, Oktoberfest

Spaten Oktoberfest Beer, created in 1872, is the world’s first Oktoberfest beer brewed for the greatest folk festival in the world. This medium bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. Having a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition. Alcohol: 5.9%

Spaten, Optimator

Spaten Optimator is the classic German bottom-fermented dark beer Doppel-Bock Optimator is a full bodied strong beer with a roasty, malty and slightly sweet brew character full of rich caramel notes and coffee hints. Alcohol: 7.2%

Spaten, Premium Bock

The precise ratio of malt to hops guatentees that this strong beer is balanced to perfection. Crisp with nice fine carbonation that is thick. Beautiful hop balance that give this a mild floral, citrus flavor. Quite drinkable, refreshing and flavorful. Alcohol: 6.5%

Spaten, Pilsner

Smooth on the tongue, very light and very crisp, with high bubbly carbonation racing up the brew in the middle of the glass. No hop bitterness in the aftertaste. An extremely drinkable brew, an excellent representation of German Pilsner beer! Alcohol: 5.0%

Spaten, Premium Lager

Golden light with good carbonation. Fine head with good retention and lacing. Not much in the way of hopiness which is proper for the style. Light enough as a session beer but still of the highest quality in a lager. Excellent beer!! Alcohol: 5.2%

Spaten, Dunkel Weiss

Classic Bavarian dark wheat beer brewed with dark roasted malt, giving it a mild caramel flavor. Though this is a dark beer, its body is still light with a dash of smoky roasted grain coming through on the finish. Alcohol: 5.0%

Franziskaner, Hefe-Weissbier

Aroma is of vanilla and citrus fruit, along with some spicy, clovy notes. Velvety smooth and creamy, with just enough sparkle to make it lively on the tongue. There is very little sweetness and the finish is dry. A fine weissbier from Munich’s oldest brewery.Alcohol: 5.0%
