The 39th annual Oktoberfest @ Tempe Town Lake and the Frank Kush Youth Foundation have partnered to produce the 20th annual...now known as..."das Frank Kush Oktoberfest Family Fun Foot Race." The event will provide additional Oktoberfest "oomp-pah-pah" and further solidify the charitable work of both organizations.

All children 15 and under will receive medals. Plaques are awarded to the overall male
and female 5 Mile Run and 5K Run winners. First place awards are presented to winners
in each age category for the 5 Mile Run and 5K Run.

The 39th annual Oktoberfest @ Tempe Town Lake and the Frank Kush Youth Foundation have partnered to produce the 20th annual Frank Kush Run & Walk in which the legendary Arizona State University football coach and College Football Hall-of-Famer will be on hand to encourage participants. Now known as the “das Frank Kush Oktoberfest Family Fun Foot Race” the event will provide additional Oktoberfest “oomp-pah-pah and further solidify the charitable work of both organizations.
Das Foot Race proceeds will benefit the Frank Kush Youth Foundation which will in turn benefit Tempe Elementary and Kyrene Elementary School Districts through the purchase of physical activity equipment. Either district or any other school or youth organization in Arizona will receive a $250 donation or more from the Frank Kush Youth Foundation and Gopher Sports for the purchase of physical activity equipment with the registration of at least 50 race participants. Depending on the needs of the school or youth organization the donation need not be limited to athletic equipment.
Das Foot Race will also benefit Tempe Sister City Corporation. This year, 2011, is the 40th anniversary of Tempe Sister City. Every year since 1972, Tempe Sister City, a non-profit, has sent up to 32 high school students between their junior and senior years on a life changing foreign exchange to one of Tempe’s eight sister cities. Tempe Sister City also has a vibrant educator and professional exchange program. In all cases, the airfare cost is entirely provided by Tempe Sister City.
